Retaining Key Employees With Top-Tier Employee Benefits

Profile

Our partner is an independent, state of the art testing facility that operates in one of the largest cities in Texas. They offer an extensive selection of services in environmental and industrial analysis to environmental and engineering consultants, government installations, municipalities and private citizens. They have programs tailored for private needs and quality assurance including: waste and water analysis, industrial analysis and chemical analysis.

Our partner has been in business for almost three decades and UniqueHR has been fortunate enough to have walked along side of them for just over 10 years. In that time, they have seen significant business growth. They rely heavily on our services for Human Resources Management, Workers’ Compensation Insurance & Claims Management, web-based Payroll, Safety Training, and our broad spectrum of Employee Benefits.

Problem

Initially, our client was primarily looking for a Payroll partner and considering all the options. However, as they continued to grow they realized the benefits of streamlining their operation from multiple vendors to one who could not only handle their Payroll, but also Workers’ Compensation & Claims and Safety, as well. They also discovered that attracting and keeping quality personnel was another unique challenge they had to overcome in order to ensure continued success in their overall business operation.

Solution

Our partner made the strategic decision to expand their UniqueHR service offering to include full medical coverage, dental, vision and 401(k) retirement benefit packages to their staff. They also began promoting this fact during recruitment efforts which resulted in top technical recruitment of Chemists and Lab Analysts, as well. And as a result, our client’s average employee tenure has increased by 30% in the past two years.

While the costs of losing a “normal” employee are high enough, the Center for American Progress reports that “the cost of losing executive and professional level staff is astronomical — up to 213 percent of the employee’s salary.”

“Our partnership with UniqueHR has enabled us to refocus on business development efforts, customer service, and overall test quality with impeccable turnaround times. Their robust benefit offering is an important part of our overall strategy to retain our “hard to find” technical professionals and stay competitive with the larger labs who might otherwise look enticing to our staff. I would urge any business owner who isn’t large enough to ‘go it alone’ to call upon the experts at UniqueHR.”
